Associate Building Physics Engineer

Our client delivers projects across multiple, niche sectors from residential, data centres, aviation, healthcare and many more. Striving to achieve the right balance between form and function whilst focusing on sustainability is a challenge they enjoy.

Their London team is seeking an Associate Building Physics Engineer to work within their industry leading team, where you will benefit from their excellent reputation and work with a team who have a wealth of experience in all sectors.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage day to day activities of the Building Performance team;
  • Manage resources, performance and workflow of the team;
  • Ensure high quality of work output from the team;
  • Embed into projects to shape sustainability / NZC design strategies;
  • Mentor and assist development of engineers;
  • Undertake dynamic thermal modelling (IES-VE) analysis;
  • Undertake studies relating to BREEAM Credit evidence;
  • Manage residential Approved Document L assessments utilising accredited SAP software;
  • Prepare Energy & Sustainability Statement for developments;
  • Coordinate and manager energy/sustainability contributions from stakeholders.


This is a responsible, demanding but rewarding role and the successful candidate will have experience of leading thermal modelling and energy strategy work on a range of projects across all sectors.

About you :

  • Chartered or working towards and Level 4 & 5 accredited Energy Assessor (LCEA);
  • Experience in NABERS or TM54 design state operational energy assessment;
  • Experience in producing reports, undertaking calculations, production of models and site surveys;
  • Able to attend and liaise at internal and external meetings.

You will also be expected to support best practice in buildings physics and building modelling throughout the firm, delivering research and development tasks to enhance knowledge.
